On page ten of my manual, under "Understanding the Machine" tells you how to adjust the powder funnel and measure. If that's doesn't work then you might have the wrong one(funnel). Mine is mounted in the press at this time so I can't give you any measurements. Maybe someone else can.

Do you have the "D" powder funnel. Check and make sure.

OK
Questions
1. You know the powder die is a two piece die?
2. Is the expander part (funnel) of the die in the powder die?
3. If it is, take it out and tell us what it is marked

To assist, look at this

Thanks,
Sorry for the simple start, but need to know so we can assist more

Call Dillon, they have a NO BS Warranty, and may be able to assist over the phone or send you a new D funnel

I think I have the answer. Inside the measure (around the tube but inside the cast part) there is a white plastic bushing with a flange on one end. This is what the expander pushes on that makes everything work. If this part is missing you likely are not making the measure go all the way in or can you bell the case.

If that part is missing it is very likely inside the last powder container you returned powder to and cycled the measure to get the last bit out.

In my old manual it is part #80 and called a collar sleeve.

LOL! BTDT, and I now keep a finger positioned to catch it if it decides to jump ship.

So, what was the problem?

I believe also that you are missing the little plastic collar. If inserted incorrectly it won't function at all and you would know immediately. If it's missing the die won't bell the case mouth.

Let us know what the problem was.

So, what was the problem?

I sent him the wrong powder funnel.

I am very sorry for all the troubles I caused you Love Life. I was hog hunting in Texas while you were struggling to make your press work.

I apologize in public for my error.

Mike

The hogs on the ranch I was hunting on had been hunted hard and were very wary. I shot the only one that would hold still long enough to find it in the scope... Dropped the young sow in her tracks. I was using a Remington 700 in .243 with a cheap scope and the light of the moon to make the shot around 10 PM. I couldn't even see the hogs with the naked eye.

There were 10 hunters and we got 10 hogs total.

It was fun and I'll be going back. Next time it'll be a different ranch near Killeen.

Oh... and the hams are being smoked as I type this. :-)

I dont know about speaking Texan... but I didn't have any trouble communicating.

I have traveled a lot over the years... I get a kick when I recall a trip I took through Louisiana... I asked what turned out to be an old Cajon woman for directions... I said thanks and headed up the road. My wife, who grew up in the Florida panhandle asked me where I was headed. I told her I was following the instructions the woman gave me. She just could not believe that I understood anything that Cajon woman said! I've been stationed all over the US. I can understand just about anybody! Even a Texan. :-P

Brian: did you send him a .357 powder funnel instead of one for .38 or are they the same?/

I rna inot that problem with my C&H AutoChamp they sent me the 10MM expander and it would do .40 S&W.

I sent him a "D" funnel, but it was an "early," short D funnel. Apparently Dillon changed the length.
