I have been looking for a nice barrel for a 22-250 project and came across this article. There is a ton of neat information about cut rifling, button rifling and hammering barrels.

I've settled on the idea of getting a cut rifled barrel and almost all the makers have 4 - 6 month wait.

I was day dreaming this morning while on the way to vet to retrieve a feline and was thinking about how I might contour a barrel.
Interestingly enough this reference had information on that subject as well.
