hi , i have had a rem 7400 in 243 cal the gun shoots great with win ----hornady--ect but won't cycle rem ammo very well .
you would think the rem ammo would be the one to do best in it's namesake rifle .
just an observation.
have a great day. :evil::confused::twisted:

I had owned a 7400 in .30-06..and noticed the same thing.

I like Remington ammo..but have concluded it's loaded to fairly mild pressures.

I have a friend with the same rifle in .30-06 and the same problem if he shoots Remington ammo under 180 grain. He usually shoots the cheapest ammo he can find with decent luck but Remington gives him fits.
A little off topic but another friend has a Remington 1100 that will not cycle Remington slugs, works great with Winchesters though.

huh!!!
did Remington have a disclaimer when they sold their 7400's saying "these rifles may not cycle as intended if you use our ammo",,.
for best results please use winchester ammo" :evil::kidding::evil:
i realize they have a "bad rep " for their cycling problems in earlier mods but they were "fixed" when the 7400 was introduced,
i have ZERO problems with winchester or hornady ammo ,,,,,,just remington.
