I have some glow in the dark powder that I have for making soft plastic bait. Sprinkle some into the plastic and it glows pretty well even in darker plastics.

Got the thought of mixing some into some 50/50 lube. I wonder what it'd look like going down range at night.

I was thinking a 38 wadcutter @ 650 fps.

I'd bet that it's not good for the bore, and it'll prolly leave a film, but I gotta try...

I wonder how a GLOOBIT would work......

I bet you can't even tell the difference. The muzzle flash will out-shine it by a wide margin. Most of the lube will be turned into a mist that is too difuse for the phosphorescent effect to be seen. I'm not even sure the phosphor would be charged up enough to glow during the firing process.

I say no harm in trying though. Give it a shot & see.

I think it would make zombie-killing gluelits and ballistic tips!

The light (muzzle flash) will not get to it to make it glow . You need to charge the material before it will glow the best method I have found is a camera strobe but in your case the only flash it will get is after leaving the gun I do not believe it will be enough.

Time for GITD gas checks...

umm, don't those glow in the dark things need to be exposed to sunlight to "charge"?

i hear phosphorous is a good GITD compromise!

Try mixing it with some tumble lube. At least you can charge it up on the exposed portion of the front of the boolit prior to firing it.

I'm thinking I will try my 650 gr PP mold with the 45-70. Wrap it with tracing paper and cast the boolit with hot glue. Load it with a magnum primer only.

I'm going to try to melt some hot glue down and mix in the powder then pour it back into stick form to run through the hot glue gun.

Once the powder is charged up by sunlight it'll hold it's glow for quite a while.

I was thinking the same thing Doc, that gluits would be a good platform for these.

I wonder if a plastic disk with the glow in the dark stuck to the bullet base would work?

I wonder if a plastic disk with the glow in the dark stuck to the bullet base would work?

There is actually a product like that. It's called Glow Ammo and they have some videos.

I have some tiny glow sticks as well. I was thinking of HP'ing the big PP Gloobit and stuffing one in just before shooting it.
I'd be neat to make some up for the 44 and go out in the back 40 and send some straight up.

UV light around 320-400nm is the optimal charging light.

But if it is dark enough to see a GLOWLIT then it's to dark to aimhttp://i295.photobucket.com/albums/mm153/Chickenthief/Blandet/Smilere/emoticon-misc-005.gif
