Hooks made from WW's !!

I had some steel WW's ... they were probably 2 1/2 to 3 fingers wide in length. I put them in the forge and hammered them into a couple of decent looking hooks -- an 'S' hook and a pot hook for an open fire. It's nice to know I can forge these steel WW's into something usable instead of tossing them in the trash.

In your collections of WW's, if you come across steel ones -- they say FE on them and they are approx 2 to 3 fingers wide in length or longer, would you save them up, and when you get a small post office mailing box full, would you send them my way ?? I'll reimburse the $5.80 for shipping. I just need a couple of small boxes of them. That should last me a lifetime. The tiny ones I probably can't use.
I really appreciate it.....!!

Rusty,
Glad to see someone has come up with a use for them. I'd like to see your hooks when you do get pics up.

Cool use for something we throw away! Looks as if we may have a new forum topic.

Same here. I was going to throw mine out and they ended up being worth $16 at the scrappers last time I was there.

I'm sure we here could think up something that Rusty could make that the folks on this forum might want. Maybe skimmer handles, or small tongs....????:?:

How do you forge those steel weights like that? What about the clips on the middle?

Nice work.

Never saw steel WWs as ingots.
Now I want a forge and an anvil.
