I've heard you can find a replacement wrench for the lube compressor wrench that came with the 450 on harbor freight. I can't find one...anybody have a link to the exact tool that would serve as a replacement? For cheap?

Have a look here, I believe it's what you're looking for. Can't help you with Harbor Freight, but I've seen these hanging up at Sears stores before

Funny...I was just looking at the stamp on the old wrench (still have it, but it seized up). I was wondering if Chapman was still in business since their mark is on the original. Guess they've been around a while...

I prefer "little person ratchet". Thank you very much.

Craftsman ratcheting box end wrench No. 42161. 1/4 on one end and 5/16 on the other.

At last report, Chapman Tools was still alive and well and selling that wrench on their website as a separate item. Another possible source is old Chapman sets (especially partial sets) at gun shows... people lose or break the screw driver inserts, but the handles and especially the ratchet wrenches seem to go on forever. That's how I ended up with about 6 of them!

I called Lyman and they sell it for $8.00 + shipping.

Go to an auto parts store--most of the chain ones sell store-brand wrenches. Buy one of their 1/4 inch drive ratchets and the socket that fits your stem. The socket alone should go for a buck or two, and the little ratchet for around $5 or $6. I bought one at Bond Auto to keep on my reloading bench, and I find it pretty handy, not only for my 450 sizer, but also to use on the stem of one of my Lee Perfect Powder Measures, as these can get a little tight once in a while. I usually keep a couple of the smaller sized flat wrenches, bought at the same time, on my loading bench, for occasional setup and adjustments on my MEC shotshell presses.

I took an old open end wrench, cut the handle short and then ground the inner face of the wrench to the correct size to fit the nut. Small, light-weight, and free if you consider I was about to throw it away.

I also have an old Lyman 450 with no wrench. Good info to have, thanks.

This is the ticket. I have several. They work great. Available online or in the store.

Easy to get from Lyman or Chapman. I found on in the bargain cave at Cabella'ss with a bit for installing/removing nipples from a ML. Got if for $7 and didn't have to pay S&H. I've also seen them at gunshows. BTW; I have 2 sets of the Chapman screw driver set which has the handls. Good to have in the range box, I've used mine numerous times over the years to fix my own problems or others, particularly loose action screws or scope mounts, at the range.
