I just picked up this new mold in a pawn shop. The number is 2640139 and it's for .50 Calibers such as the 50-70 and 56-50. I'm kinda new at this and was hoping it would cast boolits for my Remington .50 cal muzzle loader. The price was right so I guess I can look for a trade if nothing else. Will it work for my ML? Thanks, Ken

Your ML probably measures .495" or so, and the mold (if really for a 50/70) should cast in the neighborhood of .515". A little large for you intended usage. Pics of the mold would be beneficial. I have a fe old Lee 50 ML molds if you are interested in a trade PM me.

Ken, those numbers don't add up to a 50 caliber in my mind. Can you post a picture? Any idea what weight boolit it is supposed to cast?

Hi joken,
That's a .50 Cal. Carbine Mould for Smith/Gallagher, and too large for your application.
The Lyman Maxi for .50 Cal. M/L is #504617 and casts a M/L Boolit.
There's also a Plains type Boolit, and .490 RB for the .50.

If your interested in selling, or trading for projectiles, or other, shoot me a PM as I Could always use another #515139.

Hope this Helps,
Jeff
