If anyone has one of the older 32-20 barrels that T/C made, I am trying to determine the rear sight height for the factory sight. My front sight stands .60" above the muzzle and apparently they made different sights for the rear with different blade configurations based on caliber (center of bore and bullet weight/velocity to sight height).

Does anyone have a rear sight that can be correctly used on an older T/C barrel in .32-20 or if you have one of these barrels, will you please let me know how tall your rear sight stands over the barrel top surface?

Wow...12 hours with no feedback. Must be a real popular caliber or I'm the last person on earth and don't know it.

Hello! just a note so you wont feel so alone. no info on the sights but you might check your bore I think all of the TC 32/20 bores where 308 die not 313. or mybe you already know that. GD

Wow...two of us survived the apocalypse. I knew about the bore being .308 and that was the main reason I bought it. Made a real nice groundhog shooter in Virginia with a scope on it. Since there is no self-respecting groundhog living in the Piedmont region of NC, I wanted to put a rear sight back on it to plink with using some cast bullets.

Thanks for the friendly tip - I appreciate the cautionary hint.

T/C ghad a couple of different rear sight blade heights and four different front sight heights. Unless the front sight is one of the solid varieties I usually adjust the front sight to achieve the POI I am after. I find it easier to punch out the drift pin and raise or lower the blade. Then either solder or use JB weld to hold it in place.

How many screw holes in your barrel on your rear sight area? and is your front sight a screw on or no? what kind of a barrel do you have reg? bull? super 14? I have a super 14" Bull Barrel in 44 mag with the best set of Willim sights front and back I have ever seen on a TC . I just may sell it down the road a bit. Tom GD

If you call T/C or S&W, they will send you the correct rear sight, I can't remember if they charge me for one or just sent one. I do know they did send me a higher front sight for my .44 mag. 10 in. barrel for it shot high using cast boolits with a mild charge of Unique.

It is a 10" bull. Sight height from top of barrel is .600 inches. Muzzle thickness is .710 inches. Breech thickness is .810 inches so there is a slight taper. The rear sight area has 4 tapped holes. Front sight is a screw on.

Is this a chart you have put together? If so allow me to assist. I have a 41 mag barrel and can measure the sights for you. When measuring the rear sight, is it measured when the elevation is "center travel" in the carriage? Do you measure from the top of the barrel to the top of the blade?

Wildwood beat me to it. I just saw this thread and was about to post that chart till I scrolled down and saw I was a bit slow on the draw.

Keep your eyes peeled for one. They turn up now and then at gun stores etc.

I will get my bbl out of the safe in the next day or so and get the numbers off of the sights and post some photo's so you can see the sights I have on it. Tom/GD

Got my brass from Midway today. Got it all primed and awaiting my mold from Tom at Accurate Molds to cast off some nice bullets for this rascal. With any luck, I'll get a rear sight on this barrel soon too.

I found the rear sight. I abandoned ALL HOPE that T/C would actually respond to my email to the support department and I didn't want to purchase one from another source without knowing it was specifically made for the 32-20 barrel. To help all you who provided charts and offered to sell a sight, I have attached a photograph of the sight and confirmed that the rear sight blade is as indicated on the chart that Wildwood-Lake provided. Notice however that the dimensions specified on that chart (0.110") are indicated with RED LINES on the photo.

By the way, the Accurate Mold bullet 313120B over 3.0 grains of HP38 is a tack driver!
