Erik's work is terrific! He has done several molds for me, in fact, there are 4 molds at his place now for various work.

I've done several. While you're at it, get the GC shank hogged out too. Makes a darn fine shooting little bullet./beagle

Buckshot did a mould for me and it is fine work at a very economical price.

That's what I am having Erik do to 3 molds, tired of dealing w/ gc & my Star sizer.

Seating gc on the Star is a bit more involved than w/ a RCBS or Lyman. I would rather just not. There is very liittle benefit for most handgun apps.

Off topic, but what's different about seating gas checks on a Star as opposed to a Lyman? I have both a Star, and a Lyman 45 sizer, and I seat gas checks the same on either, snap on gas check, size boolit. The only boolits that are more difficult are very pointy 30 cal boolits, but even then they're not at all hard to do. Of course the issue of the need for a gas check on a pistol boolit is another issue.

Maybe just a little more trouble on a Star but I've shot a lot of 358165HPs with GCs off a Star back in the old days.

The point I'm making is that you probably don't need that expensive GC on a bullet that you'll probably not run hot enough to need one. Easy for the machinist to do it at the same time he's HPing and will save you about $20 or so per thousand rounds loaded.

I just had a 38-162-SWC HP'd and had the GC shank removed. I'm using Pat's .35PB checks on it in my Marlin M1894 and so far, no leading and great accuracy plus feeding . Got to fit the HP pin yet and I'll be ready for production./beagle
