Surplus in the 458Win Mag

I searched around and didn't find anything about surplus powders and the 458 Win Mag. I shoot 405 grn and 465 grn both gas checked and paper patched.

Anyone have some ideas on an available surplus powder that could work? I'm using H4895 right now with pretty good results.

they are using the wc860 with a few grains of a kicker in the 45-70s. I don't see why it wouldn't work in a 458.

There you go...a case-full of wc860 with a "kicker" to get things started.

.45-70 loads are a good place to start with the 458. I'll do a little looking into that.

WC844 or 846 should be quite useful for full power loads. IMR4895 will work well too.
