I bought into the C358-180RF group buy a while back, and like the mould... EXCEPT, that for dinking around with funky alloys, nose pins, etc it's just too ... BIG, and I've also been known to cast bullets in the woods - and really hate to ding-up aluminium molds. While heavier, steel is so much more rugged.

I have and really like a Lyman .358-156 SWC, and was wondering if

(A) anyone kows of a steel mold substantially similar to the C358-180RF, or
(B) how to get one made?

Thanks.

Mountain molds will make you an iron one. I have one of his molds in 45-70, and it's a winner. Pretty reasonable too.

This is an almost copy of Veral Smith's 180gr FN originally available in alum. I know of no steel origanal over the counter mold. Gianni

NEI has some nice moulds that will probably fit your requirements:

Look at .358-175-GC #152 or
.358-190-PB #161A

This is not a particularly "user friendly" web site. However, "NEI Handtools" makes fine moulds and I have had really good service from them. They make both aluminum and steel moulds. The Steel moulds carry a premium price.
