Many years ago, I picked up a very nice Siamese Mauser action at one of the larger gun shows with the intent of building a 45-70 rifle in the future. That time has come.

I have a decent barrel and my gunsmith buddy is going to help me thread, chamber and headspace it to the action so I'm well on the way. Then a problem...years ago most stockmakers carried sporter stocks already inlet for the Siamese but I can't seem to find any. Evidently since the all the actions were scooped up and built into rifles there's not much demand anymore.

I've found that Richards Microfit stocks still lists a Siamese option, with a twelve week wait. On top of that, some of the feedback on them isn't very good. Does anyone know of any inletted sporter stocks still available?

Well, ya gotta remember that the day of the Si was back in the mid to late 70's. Pretty much anyone that could get one has done it and the call has to be tiny. In fact, these days I see more people trying to restore them than convert them.

Weird.

True Bret.....what I didn't mention is that I have a complete military Siamese tucked away in the back of the safe. One of these days I'll get around to making some brass for it and see what the old girl can do.

Try www.wenig.com. He used to work for Fajen.

Thank you quack1......that looks like real quality, probably more than what the rifle is worth when completed but I like what I see. I'll contact them as soon as my action is barreled.

They clean up real nice. I stocked mine with a fairly dark blank I got from Fajen. There is no stain on the stock. I took it to Shaw to get it barrelled and chambered(they are just on the other side of Pittsburgh from me) and did everything else myself. Shoots jacketed and cast from 350gr up to 475 grain really well, and kills deer.
