Fine rifle that shows it's birth in the current form from the 50's. The old Weaver KV scope goes way back. White line spacers set my teeth on edge, but that is the way it was done "back in the day".

Enjoy it, you have a dandy.

Do you have a "before" picture? That's purty!

The KV scope is just on for display while i am waiting on a 1.5x5 to put on it. Big problem now is it's so pretty i don't want to take it out and shoot it.

And what chambering did you use for it? Who did the checkering, that is a very nice design.

As to the too purty to shoot, that is bunk. You made it to shoot so go shoot it, one must just take care of it. A hundred years from now it will not matter if it is shot, if it is taken care of. And in a hundred years those dings and scratches will hardly be noticeable.

I hope someone enjoys this shooter, it is one to be proud of.

That is a fine looking rifle. The wood, checkering, and fresh bluing really bring it back to life.

No, Really. Who the heck did the stockwork? Seriously good looking checkering and Fleuring. Good job putting this together.

That stock is a real beauty.
I've seen photos of a few that might surpass it, but those generally were the work of top of the line gunsmithing firms like Griffon and Howe. I've also seen some top drawer products of these firms that did not look quite as nice.

The properly Sporterized Springfield is as much a part of American history as the 03 in original military trim.
