My .45 1911 is a parts gun I assembled on an aluminum AMT frame. WW2 Ithaca slide, Wilson FP, with more WW2 parts everywhere. Lovingly referred to by me and my buds as "The Junkyard Dog". Anywhoo, never could get the lee truncated cone 230's to even climb the feed ramp from a full 8 round Colt (Shooting Star) mag. The first round always nosedived, and locked the slide. Round nose loads worked just fine though. My new Chip McCormick 8 rd. SS Power Mag magazine arrived today. This is a supposidly new offering by Chip. I loaded 8 Lee TC 230 loads in it (7.4 gr. win 540/HS6) and tripped the slide lock. It loaded just fine:-). The only I could make it jam was to inch the slide up to the cartricge base, and then release it. It would nosedive then. This magazine was an answer to my prayers, well, so to speak. Ran 5 TC rounds from a full mag with one in the chamber through it this afternoon, flawless. I'm ordering 2 more in a few days. YMMV Mack
