I am looking to get a GC pistol boolit mold for my 357 Herrett (Contender) but would also like to shoot it in my Marlin 336 in 35 Rem. I have the RCBS 35-200-FN that shoots great in it, but want a lighter bullet also. So, I will be getting either the Lyman 358156 or RCBS equivalent. I have a bunch of Unique to make up some plinking loads, but I want to make some "full power" loads with these bullets as well. From what I can tell, I can get 2200 - 2300 fps pretty easily with this weight of bullets. Anyone have any experience with loads like these? How would a load like this with air cooled WW work on deer or wild pigs?

Absolutely zero problems. Probably the best cast boolit setup possible when considering the twists of these guns. The Herrett at standard 14 twist is a little steep, as ideally it should be 18-20 using those 180's or less. ... felix

I used a lot of 357 buyllets for plinking in my M8. I had to cycle it like a straight pull with lower power loads but the Lee 358 s/w shot great and made a good small game load and a Lyman Thompson g/c ran fine at 1900-2000 fps. My favorite bullet was a 200 gr RCBS rnfp with no gas check at about 1600 from the M8. This one was just right for anything under deer size game. I just gave the data and bullets to the fellow who bought the M8 I'll see if I can find a copy of the data.
