Yup.....just orderred another Lever gun. This time a SS 20" barrel 45LC Mo#92 Rossi.
Wanted a truck gun, and that stainless sorta looked to fill the bill, besides after freight taxes, transfer documentation....it's $502.00
Not bad for my neck of the woods, when they were selling at the gun show this past weekend for 500.00 + 35.00 tax, and local dealers want upwards of 600.00 when they can get them.
So now its 1 each of the following LG's:
Winchester NRA Centennial 30/30
Marlin 336 30/30
Henry Big Boy 45LC
Rossi 92SS 45LC(on the way):bigsmyl2:

If that SS 92 is anything like my blued 92's you will be thrilled with it. My saddle ringed one I carry all the time is amazingly accurate with 10 gr of Unique behind a 255gr RNFP boolit. There is no telling how many deer and coyotes I have killed with that rifle. When I leave the house it follows me out the door and when I come back in for the night it goes back to it's corner by the door ready to follow me out the next time I leave. I can't say enough good about those little 92's.

Best wishes,

Joe

I just ordered a blued model of the 92 yesterday. I like the stainless but I don't like the flash it puts off so I got the blue. Ordered it from Dicks Sporting Goods and it was the same price as the cheapest I could find on Gun Broker and no shipping. Oh, it is the 45 Colt. I tried to order a Marlin in .357 but they were out of stock on everything in Marlin. What that all about? How can you buy American when there is no American available? The used Marlins on GB are about the same price as the new ones and some are MORE!!!

Lemme see if I got this straight. SS=BP loads OK! Blue=traditional good looks. I guess a 45Colt in SS to play w/ BP and a 357 in blue to utilize all this 38/357 brass would make sense. :bigsmyl2:

Kliff I handled a 92 30/30 when I was looking for 45/70, nice and light. I was wanting one in 45/70 but settled on a GBL. I still want one in 45 long colt some day. we need picks and reports lol. I want a pistol cal lever bad.

Boondocker,

I sure like my pistol cal lever guns. I would be lost with out my Mod 92 45LC. If for some reason I to go down to just one rifle I am afraid that it would be my that one. The way I load it, along with the way that I hunt, I would not feel under gunned going after anything on the North American continent with it. When my eyes were a bit younger it would shoot a 3 shot clover leaf at 100 yards every time off the sand bags. It wouldn't 4 and 5 shots with out walking an inch or so. It has filled the freezer more times than I care to think about with white tail and busted a few coyotes. Those 92's are just great little guns.

Best wishes,

Joe

I wish you a long and healthy relationship with your Mod92 45LC as I have had with mine thus far. It is truly one of those, "when they pry my cold dead hands" from it sort of things for me. It is a good looking gun, now hurry up and get to the range.

Best wishes,

Joe

I've always had good luck with Gallery of guns, and sometimes, depending on the shipper, get my toys in 3 working days. This was the longest wait yet, but a week wasn't a problem, when I hear stories of guys waiting months.

There were 2 problems, but purely cosmetic. Buying across the counter, with others to select from, I'd have turned this one down. But to ship it back, and wait for another, when it's something I can fix in short manner, I'll keep it and bond. The brass button from the front sight was missing, so, I made a new one and presssed it in with epoxy. Time expended 1 hour. The stock had a blemish on the right side, but I want a different color anyway, so when I sand and refinish, it will dissappear, no problemo.

Am I satisfied? All things considerred, price, availability, shipping time, and 2 defects.....yeah, I'm happy, and I'll be keeping her for many moons to come.:bigsmyl2:
