I picked up a 5-qt cast iron pot over the weekend and was wondering how many btu I need to put under it to melt say 4-qts of WW. I only have a single burner on a propane tank, and I know this pot is too heavy for it. I am thinking about ordering the 170,000 btu burner from Agri-supply.

:) You don't want that stuf to boil, just melt:)
Northern Tool + Equipment #330973-1703 One burner stove at 35,000 btu, cost $39 plus shipping. Works good for me and has great heat control. Actualy small burner inside larger burner that may be controlled seperately.
