Would using the Tok case necked down with a 60 gr 257 boolit send us into space? Looking for 1,600 with it... Nice part of the Tok is the .388 head. Fits into a .625 envelope much better.

Holy jumping-up-and-down, Martha! It would be incredibly fast, but would it be accurate?

I saw this a while back, but totally forgot it. Maybe it was rattling about in my sub-conscious...

BUT... a _sub-sonic_ AP round? Seems an oxymoron, one would thing AP is as fast as possible....

Now for a reamer, right?

You could do something very similar with .22/.30 caliber sabots. Let me see if I can find that link. Here it is: http://www.makarov.com/tokloaddata.html All the way to the bottom of the page. IIRC it is refered to as the .223 Timbs cartridge. There was also a .223x25 that was a necked down 7.62x25. The .22 Reed if I haven't become senile. LOL.

Looking at the 6.35mmx25, it appears the neck is even longer than on the 7.62mmx25 Tok, and a longer neck for cast boolits is a good thing...

One possibility would be to have Dave Manson modify a 7.62x25 reamer to your specs. I've used his services a few times and I am very happy with his cooperation and knowledge. I've had him make reamers that are for cast friendly wildcats and he seems to understand the needs of a cast boolit shooter.

I was thinking about this just the other day! I was looking more towards a .17 or .22 cal bullet though. I have become very fond of the tok round.
