I've looked high and low and can't find one. I did see a four banger, but that's the only one. I'd buy one for whatever if I could just find one. I did find a .315, but it's too big.

bchannell,

I doubt anyone really knows what sizes the Ideal/Lyman company made round ball moulds in. They've been around for so long the list of what sizes they didn't make is probably shorter.

That said, the answer to your question is yes, I have one. So keep looking, you'll find it!

Welcome to the forum by the way.

I think I have one, but can't remember if it is Lyman or Ideal

IIRC, it is a SC mould.

I should get it out and look at it one of these days.

I bought it for a grouse load for my 30 cals.

I hear they fit good into 12ga shells also

They are out there. Have a DC Lyman. Great little round ball for a plinker in about any .30 caliber.

Instead of the .311" rb mold , I used to use the 311252 boolit.

I have a LEE 311 dc that throws what diameter it is advertised to do.

Someone does.

I have a Ziploc bag full of them. This is from my experiments with a .311 ball seated over 3 grains of Bullseye for a 30 yard and indoor load through an '03 Springfield.

At one time, Lyman would make any diameter in .001 increments on special order in SC for $5. Those days are gone now. The .311 was a stock item and I've seen several. The smallest RB I have currently is a .319 SC.

Saeco will make RB moulds to order in 4 cavity blocks to almost any size. They're not listed but they will make them special order.....and, they're pricey./beagle

You could size it down or just get the Lee .311 2 banger they sell. Good luck

Yes, you can size it down or bump it up a couple of thou in a sizer. I size my .319" down for the .30s. I use a TP with a round profile and it produces a "bullet" that is more or less flat on the bottom with a rounded nose. Dip in Lee's liquid alox cut with lighter fluid, let dry and load. That's for .30 plinkers./beagle
