We would like to produce two or three different H&G designed molds for our first group buys. Below I have the eight different designs I believe will be most popular and as far as I can tell have never been done before or not for a long time. They are the ones H&G/Ballisti-Cast has made the most of over the years. If there are other ones you think would be better feel free to say so. I made the models of the bullets using a caliper and by eye so they are the approximate designs only. When the designs are agreed upon I will copy the cherry cutter we have from H&G on our optical comparator and be able to make drawings accurate to .0001". I'll also be able to make small modifications to the design or weight of the bullet where appropriate upon popular demand. The weights are in wheel weight unless specified Lino.

40189
H&G #39, 158 Grain, 38 Caliber

40191
H&G #50, 148 Grain, 38 Caliber SWC

40194
H&G #290, 160 Grain, 38 Caliber
Note: Elmer Keith designed H&G #43, however #43 projects too far out of the case for magnum revolvers that have a short cylinder. Because of this, the nose was shortened on #290, but for all intensive purposes it is the same design.

40198
H&G #332, 175 Grain, 40 Caliber
This is the a similar design to H&G #68 but for 40 Caliber.

40200
H&G #44, 210 Grain, 44 Caliber

40196
H&G #23, 205 Grain, 44 Caliber

40192
H&G #107, 245 Grain / 185 Grain / 135 Grain, 44 Caliber SWC
The cavity can be cut shorter in the mold to get the different weights.

40193
H&G #130, 185 Grain Lino, 45 Caliber

Of your poll options, I expressed an interest in the Number 50. However, the first I wish to buy is the H&G 68 design. Yes, I know, there have been 2 group buys lately for that mold from a different manufacturer. However, I was not a member here then, and missed out.:( I am also interested in some 9mm offerings. However, I will only commit to the 68 design, at this moment.

B-C,

You've got several good ones there. I picked No's 50, 290, 44, 107 & 130 with 290 as my first choice.

Regards,

Tony

I think I would be interested in # 39 and also a heavier version for the 357. Maybe some of the 44's later on when I aquire one.

Just a suggestion, but you might open up your catalogue for your group buy. You might get more interest.

Voted other. I am interested in the Keith designs. For example:
H&G #501 - Ballisti-Cast #1101 - .45 260gr Keith (similar to 250gr Ideal #454424)
H&G #503 - Ballisti-Cast #1103 - .44 250gr Keith (Ideal #429421)
H&G #326 - Ballisti-Cast #926 - .44 270 gr (reportedly design by Greg Harrison, approved by Elmer Keith as a heavier weight of #503)

Seeing them in detail would be great. I am not sure if H&G/Ballisti-Cast altered the designs with time.

+1 reader.
While I already have a H&G 503 clone I also like 501 and 326. 290 is still my first choice.

Tony

Ballisti-Cast #643(H&G#43) - .38 173gr Keith
Ballisti-Cast #623(H&G #23) - .40 180gr RNFP
Ballisti-Cast #858(H&G#258) - .41 220gr Keith
Ballisti-Cast #1103(H&G #503) - .44 250gr Keith
Ballisti-Cast #1101(H&G #501) - .45 260gr Keith
Ballisti-Cast #1119(H&G 519) - 45 200gr RN

The Ballisti-Cast #890(H&G #290) would do me of those listed in post #1.

Now I need to stop.

oh, for those that don't know the Ballisti-Cast mold # is the old H&G mold # plus 600.

Examples:
Ballisti-Cast #668 is the old H&G #68
Ballisti-Cast #1103 is the old H&G #503

One thing I haven't seen a group buy for lately- if ever at all- is a 300 grain .44 RCBS clone. Maybe something with a little more meplate. That should be a good one.

We will make rifle molds and any design there is enough interest in. It's looking like the design of choice is #290, which is what I had been expecting. I wanted to stick with a design from our catalog for the fist group buy to make it as easy as possible and get our work out there. I'm guessing for this design the options buyers would want would be gas check, hollow point, plain base, bevel base, and 2 or 4 cavities. For the first group buy the only choice of material will be iron, just to keep it simple, but in the future we will offer brass and possibly aluminum.

thats one id be intersted in in the future if it is kept exactly the same as the rcbs.

Sig, the group buy is now for any mold in the catalog, excluding gas checks. Go to the Ballisti-Cast Buyers Choice Group Buy thread, if you would like to get in on this deal.
