hello,

i'm new to this forum; but i've enjoyed what i've read thus far today.

i bought some WC-860 for use in the .270 winchester primarily, though will consider using it in the .30-06 as well.

can you tell me what loads you've tried and what success you've had with both cast and jacketed bullets? what primers and bullets did you use, please?

many thanks,

mechanic

.............WC860 should be a natural for the 270 Win. While I do not have a 270, I would suggest 55.0grs to start with a 130 gr jacketed bullet.

In shooting both the 6.5x55 and the 7x57, both with 60.0 grs of WC872 went 2750 and 2450 with 140 and 175gr bullets respectively. You have a larger boiler room and a neck ID between the 2 above, so 55grs would be a safe starting place. Both the above burn as clean as any canister powder with the surplus.
