I have the Lee 324-175 mould and the Lee 323 sizer die. The mould drops slightly smaller at .3225-.323. I decided to open the mould and sizer up to 325. Well I got the mold there (at least one cavity). and then I started on the sizer. Guess I used too coarse of sand paper and was watching a moive not keeping track of time but anyway, I opened it up to .3265. It crimps gas checks on just fine so I guess I can use it for that on the 324-175. I do however, have a Lee 329-205 mould that I used for an M95 steyr. These come out nice, round and shiney at .3265. Would that be pushing it in my K98 that has a mint bore with 323 grooves? I seated one bullet in a casing and it chambers fine. I know that many recommend casting to the throat but this makes me slightly squeemish. :holysheep

It'll squeeze down when the powder lights. If it'll chamber without resistance, you're good to go. But if they already come out of the mold that size, why size at all? Oh yea, to put the gascheck on.

The issue was really with my 329 boolits. I now have two moulds I can use for my mausers. The 329-205 and the 324-175. Just wanted to make sure the 329 sized down to 326 was safe.

I shoot the Lee 329-205, sized to .326, in both my VZ24 (.3235 groove dia.) and my M38 Turk (.3242 groove dia) with no problems (leading, pressure signs, etc) at all. Boolits are water-quenched, Lyman #2 with 10% Lino added (BHN22-23) and drop .330-.331 out of my lee-mented and lapped mould but lube grooves are still adequate after sizing down .004-.005.
