I have a Lee .44-200RNFP that I find handy to use for hardness testing samples when I make boolit alloy. Problem I have is that the front bottom alignment pin falls out from the inside;not thru the hole drilled and staked in from the end. How do I fix this?

I have had the same problem with guide pins becoming loose. The way I fixed it was to stake the pin with a 3/32 punch. Some of the mould metal is peened over the edge of the guide pin shoulder. Then to make sure that there is no high points stone the area around the pin.

The last couple of Lee moulds that I have gotten I used the procedures that NOE recomends for their moulds. Which is to temp cycle the mould to 400 degrees 3 or 4 times to set the guide pins. It seems to help.

I fixed a loose pin by using a chisel on the pin to create some burrs in the area that is covered by the drilled portion of the mould.

Call LEE and tell them. They'll fix it.
