Just got this out of layaway this morning. I've been kind of wanting one since 2002. I didn't plan on getting one so soon as I'm in the middle of another project (Retro AR build) but at 240 bucks I jumped. Anyways, she's a 336R.C. in .35 Remington, made in 1967. It's not perfect, but it's a well cared for hunting rifle and is exactly what I was looking for. I need to replace the bullseye and white spacer on the pistol grip. Otherwise she's good to go. I plan on shooting cast bullets out of her and am looking at the RD 190gr six cavity mold. I wish it was offered in two cavity. I do really well with them.

What would be the model number for the same gun (1971) with the short magazine?

That is one tidy looking rifle, great deal.

That's the 36C. I have one in 30-30. It was the cheaper model with a birch stock.

Beautiful gun for a fantistic price. I'm jealous - don't have a 35!

I love my Marlin .35 Remington, it's a bit older though.

Man, for $240, you robbed the guy, I wish I could find a deal on one like that. There's a similar one in a local shop, probably not as nice as that one that they're asking nearly twice that for.

Wow! Nicely done! I'd been casually looking for one for years, funny how they come along when you're not looking. Look it over, give it a good cleaning and continue with your current AR......you're going to call Doug and go shooting, aren't you?[smilie=w:

With the half magazine it would be the SC model! Yeah I have one! LOL And mine is in 35 Rem. I don't care for the full magazine models but at that price it would have followed me home!

Yes, Tom, the character in that gun is worth the price paid. RD mould is awesome, OP. I've heard that the 6-cav moulds are much better quality so the RD offering is actually a very good thing. Read Michael's load notes. Send me a PM, GSCSA, and I'll send you a handful. I'll be doing load development on it again soon so can send you HT now, AC later.

Thanks everyone. Doug, I'll call you tomorrow when I get back from putting the AR together. Two rifles in two days! Happy times!
