Phew! That's a lot of money. I don't know what they're selling for now, but just prior to being discontinued they were about half that.

If your gun is cherry and Delux model, not bad price.

If you like the rifle, the price is irrelevant. The few I've seen available in my area have all been $500+ for the past couple years, and they don't last long at that price. None of those were like new, more like 90%'ers at best. The 94/22s are NICE RIFLES. Enjoy that critter, go get some ammo and have some fun!

I brought it home tonight, may have paid to much but the more I look at it the more I don't care. Sweet little gun. Most I ever paid for a 22.

I personally haven't seen one go for less than 500 for at least 2 years, maybe more.

Like the man said price is irrelevant if you like the rifle , people thought I was nuts buying a kimber in the mid-eighties for the price they commanded . But the rifle did and still does for me all I could ever expect ...... sometimes , I'll just get it out and admire it .

You already paid the admission for that Winchester so now enjoy every last cent you paid ;)

161,

Having a 22 inch barrel, your gun likely is the model with a pistol grip stock. If so they were made for only a few years. So the price is fair. Enjoy it!

I bought one back in 2005 NIB for $399. It's still un-fired.
I'll have to do something about that..

Thats beautiful, wood looks nice, like the long barrel and I have never seen a 94/22 with a pistol grip stock.
Enjoy it.
Back in 1992 I paid $350 for a new Marlin 1894M 22Mag, everyone thought I lost my mind. It was alot of money then, but I never looked back, and still enjoy it.

One very nice 22, that will give you years of service. I have a marlin I will die with, unless I could trade it for a 9422. lol

That's a 94/22 'Legacy' model.

The 94/22 rifles have gone crazy in price...so-so guns that would've sold for a couple hundred bucks a few years back sell for four or five hundred dollars now.

several years ago..I paid $165 for a sort of rough looking..but mechanicaly fine 94/22M XTR. Looks rough because the metal is like 100% minor rust freckled..is still wearing a lot of blue...but there is not a square inch that isn't freckled with some rust....Looks like a 'wet guncase' issue to me.

A coworker had tried to trade it on a new shotgun..and the dealer was only going to allow him $100 for it. I offered the coworker all the money I had on me..$165...he took my money and went back and got his shotgun.

Fabulous shooting .22 mag rifle. I had never paid much attention to the .22 magnum until I got the rusty Winchester. The .22 mag got more beans than I expected!

I haven't seen a variant like yours, either. Given a 2004 MSRP of $512, I'd say that $700 for an out-of-print, rare variant is a pretty good price! and the above poster mentioning the nutzo prices on all 94/22s is correct, in spades.

I've had a 22 mag that's first year manufacture that's in the 5000's serial #. It's one fine rifle. I bought it for 90.00 before I was old enough to drive. I'm 53 now.

Money doesn't always mean so much. I bought a pair of 9422Ms around 1985 for $250 each with presentation grade flat out GORGEOUS wood. Must have been a mistake at the factory, but I had to look through close to 30 rifles to find them at the gun store where I worked. I traded one later for a gold nugget and the 2nd one I gave to my dad, figuring I'd see it again when he died. Well, when he died, no one knew what happend to that rifle - was never seen again and had the best wood I'ver ever seen on a 22 rifle.

So...now you have one, and I, who had two, don't. :o(

That is a Model 9422 Legacy - which became the standard 9422 after the discontinuation of the XTR's etc.

The change occurred when Winchester was desparately trying to reduce their production costs to hold the price down; so the metal polish prior to bluing is not as thorough/high as earlier, the stock wood was cut at a diametrically opposed angle (compared to earlier Standards) to show some "grain", and was the first (only ? ) 9422 to be issued with a rubber bumper ILO a hard buttplate.

Mecanically, however, all 9422's are the same - the only differences over the years/models being fit/finish.

That is a very pretty rifle. I paid $312 for a new 94/22M back probably 20-25 yrs. ago. The best shooting .22 rimfire I own. Very accurate, slick functioning rifle. I wish I had bought a .22lr to go with it.

The prices of guns are getting scarey. You have a fine rifle.

The 94/22 is one of the finest .22's made....All steel and walnut. Aguila Super Colibri is great fun out of the lever action.

A local GS was closing up here about 20 years ago. They had a 94/22 lr and a 94/22 mag at really great closeout prices. I grabbed the lr and my brother took the mag. The actions are smooth as silk and they shoot like bolt action target rifles! Truely outstanding guns. I haven't had mine out in years. I guess I should fix that.

Mine isn't a Winchester, it's a Marlin 39D ( D as in Dawg) a shorter thin barrel pistol grip model 39 Marlin made for a couple of years. I understand the value is going up, but it ain't for sale. Enjoy that lovely young thing.
