If you can't lower the rear sight any farther, you raise the front.

DO NOT FILE THE FRONT SIGHT.

think about this and you will see why.

If it is a stainless version you can order different blades from Ruger they come in 4 flavors.

sounds like you need a taller front site

Taller front.

I have tried, and found that it's very hard to file something longer. But you can try it too :bigsmyl2: It might work this time.

I have seen something welded clean off...:redneck:

Can you increase the velocity of your loads? That will bring your point of aim down. I had to go down to 200 gr in my .41 Mag and drive tham as hot as I could to get the point of impact down to match the sights at 50 yds.

actually that is a good Idea :Bright idea:
I do see my 250 gr hit just a whisker or two high @50
but never really gave much thought to using a lighter boolit
looks like I will have to see what Tom has to offer :lovebooli:lovebooli:lovebooli
mainly use my 300 gr'r that happens to be my accuracy boolit in that cal.,44

Solder a piece of 1/8" key stock on top(hard to do at least for me) or drill, pin, and build up with Labmetal, then file to shape

Pinned soldered key stock

Or .595" Ruger sight from Brownells compared to the factory sight I replaced for shooting 325's

I had the same problem with my Ruger KS45N and 300g boolits. A taller front sight of the Patridge style, solved the problem.
