Maybe. Maybe not. I have been wanting a once in a lifetime rifle for a while and since I guess my life is probably half over or more I better get on the stick. After doing a lot of looking and trying to be reasonable about things I found this little jewel. Its a Cooper Model 52 Westerner in .30 caliber issue of 1906- my favorite rifle caliber. I ordered a Swarovski Z-6 2.5 by 14 scope for it today. Now I gotta get out West to break it in. The test target was literally 3 rounds in one hole.

Very nice gun! I would be scared to take it outdoors--Not. I'm sure you will enjoy every minute with your new possesions.

Post some targets when you can.

You picked the best, in my opinion, caliber you could possibly have picked, in one of the prettiest guns I have ever seen. The 30-06 is the most versatile cartridge ever invented. I have cartridges from 55 grains (Remington Accelerator) to 280 grains (Rem-Umc Military loading) and everthing in between. With so many projectiles available to you by the different bullet manufacturers, you can taylor your load to the specific species and size animal you will be hunting. Everything from prairie dogs to brown bear have been taken with this caliber, and, if well aimed, it will do the job everytime.
Welcome to the World of the 30-06!

My thoughts exactly. That's a particularly fine example of a Cooper. Congratulations!

don't bring it out here you'll just scuff it up and get it covered in dust.
