Got this critter in a bunch of used reloading stuff I purchased recently…

It is around 230 grains and is 0.452” in diameter…

Lee, Lyman, and RCBS make a boolit that looks like it, but if one looks closely, the one pictured is a bevel base. The 3 mentioned company’s boolits are not bevel base…

I tried a few out of my Blackhawk 45 Colt. Accuracy was so-so…

Any thoughts as to what this boolit might be?...

Thanks…BCB

magma engineering mold.
it's the 230 rn for the 45 acp looks like their lube too.
most every commercial caster has it.

Thanks...

I figured it might be something commercial since it is a bevel base...

Probably pretty hard for that application. What are the throat dimensions for you BH?

Many of these guns (mine included) came with throats that were too tight for optimum
accuracy. Mine were .449 and .450 in the two cylinders (.45 Colt and .45 ACP) and accy
was OK but nothing to be impressed with, about two 'fliers' in each 5 shot group. I reamed
and polished the cyl throats to .453, where my groove diam is .452. This works better,
fewer fliers.

That's worked well for me also. Now if I could only get rid of those loose nut on the grips induced fliers. [smilie=l:

But you don't have to pass TSA inspection to do it. :bigsmyl2:
