I did a lot of testing with 311316 (118 gr GC'd) and 311441 (119 gr GC'd) cast of WWs + 2% tin in my 20" barrled M94. Over 8 gr of Unique both were very accurate at 1500 fps. Over 16 gr of H4227 with a 1/2 gr dacron filler they ran 1850 - 1950 fps and gave good accuracy. 2400 and 4759 did as well as the 4227 load.

Try 6.0gr of Red Dot. It works with my 140 and 150gr bullets. It should work with 115gr as well. I've used 13.0gr of Blue Dot with 150-170+ gr cast bullets. It shot well too.

..............My buddy was using that slug ("Soupcan") in his M94 30-30 over 22.0grs of H4198 + dacron for 2100 fps. At the time he had a Leupold VX-2, 3-9 scope on it. He showed me several targets fired at 100 YARDS of 5 shots, and if all tallyed up over 1.250" on average I'd be surprised. I thought that was pretty dang amazing for a M94.

I've used up to 10 gr Unique with the 311316. Quite impressive when it hits something. This is way past small game power. I'd start around 7-8 grs and see what the rifle wanted.

Soupcan plus 21-23 grains of N120, no filler. I use 23 in 308 case. Will do an inch with recoil/wind control in hunting guns. ... felix

To "really get them going fast", my selection of your powders would be 2400. 17 grs went close to 2,200 f.p.s. in my vintage '94 W carbine with good accuracy.

Faster yet would be H335 for 2,700+ f.p.s. (20 BHN bullets).

Man, I can picture that little FN at 2700 fps smacking a coyote! Talk about dead right there!

i loaded some 2400 in my 115grn lee boolit, over 16.3 grain, of 2400 and i got 3 rounds in a 3 inch group at 300 yards, it was a good 3 day!! i like this round, the only problem was my barrel was leading really bad with a gas check and angel blue lube, but it could be that i only have a 309 sizer and a 313 no in the middle i think a 310 will solve that issue.

I am using 11.0 grains of 2400 but have never chronographed it. Its intended use is high volume in my Marlin Youth gun. Kids love it.

You're looking for top end loads, but the soupcan without gas check and 4 grains of bullseye prints tight at the top of the heavy post on a 4x duplex scope, sighted for a 170 grain hunting load in my '52 vintage ballard Marlin. It'll shoot all day with no leading cast of ACWW, and beats a .22 mag in performance and feed cost!

Those of you that launch these little screamers at accelerated velocities and lever guns, how do the sights compensate for the increased velocity?
