Oh My.
That is some serious gun porn there.

What wood are those birds head grips from?

Those are really swell! That is another project I am trying to find time for. I've a well-figured, walnut, table leg that came off a ruined-in-transit, very high-end, dining room table that will some day end up as pistol grips. Work and life keep interfering with my shooting hobbies.

No spalted wood shown. All wood here is Cocobolo, Kingwood, Mexican Bocote and Honderus Rosewood.

Ok I see what you are looking at now. I really dont know. Someone droped it off at the shop. Big nasty split up and growing barnaculs (?)off of it. I was going to toss it in the burn pile but sawed it into and... WOW. I plan on stabilizing it later on.

If you ever decided to sell some more add me to the list.

The first picture are grips for a pre 1962 3 screw flat top, Cocobolo.
Anyone who is interested in Ruger S/A grips can PM me for info.

What do you use to stabilize the wood. I have been messing around with making knife handles. I have been using minwax wood hardener. Just don't know if it is going deep in the wood or not.
