I went to a local gun shop last Saturday to order a Ruger M77 Hawkeye in .358 Win. The old guy calls his usual distributor (Davidsons I believe) and is told they don’t have any. Huh? It’s a new model for 2007 and they don’t have any. Just great :( The gun shop was closed Sunday and Monday, but the owner made some calls this morning, but hasn’t heard anything yet. I know its early in the process, but I’m anxious to get my new toy. Can this gun be that hard to find???

I've seen that other Hawkeye calibers are available, just can't get my hands on a .358 Win yet.

Rugerfan,
I wouldn't worry about getting one. I have had one for almost two months now and I would be surprised if they aren't still available. I think my dealer got it from Lipsey's.

I've been drawing a blank all week, so I called Ruger sales. The woman I spoke with said that more .358s would be shipped out at the end of the month. I guess I'll have to wait.

Thanks for the tip Bustem. I called my gun dealer to see if he had checked with Lipsey's. Oddly enough, he had not. He made the call and now I have a .358 Win on the way. Yahoo!!! Man I love this forum!

Too bad that you aren't after a Remington XP-100 in .358,a friend of mine has one!

Dunno yet. I got the rifle the other day, but still in the process of purchasing all the usual stuff: scope, mold(s), sizer die, gas checks, brass, etc.
