Cabelas had a sale on Brass frame 1851 Colt Confederate Navy 44cal revolvers back in November. The price was $129 each! But they were immediately back ordered for 6-8 weeks. I placed an order for two and with a $20 off coupon, free shipping and a few " Cabelas Visa Card" bucks, I got them for $180 the pair.

Well today the Big Brown Truck showed up and I'm here to tell you, these little pistols are FANTASTIC! The fit and finish is superb. The actions are smooth as a silk. Took them both apart and did a detailed inspection. No issues whatsoever!

And they are consecutive serial numbers!

Only wish I had bought a dozen of them to use as prizes at various shoots etc..........Darn!

Just keep the powder charges LOW I had one and stretched the frame and I did not figure I was hot rodding it at the time either.

Case colors on the loading rod are nice.

Nice pistols.

I'm feeling the same love for the brown truck too. My 1858 Remington got here today. If your Colts are anything like my Remmy (fit and finish), it's going to be a fun summer of white smoke.

I'm totally out of control with gun buying this year. I picked up a set of 5.5" 1858 Remingtons with conversion cylinders a couple weeks ago!

Shooting clean cartridges out of these pistols is even more fun!

I bought one just like yours but in a 7.5" barrel, and it is a shooter! Smooth, accurate and like some have said, stay light with the powder. I do not go over 20grs goex FFFG. It is so much fun to shoot, just too bad they are a little more difficult to clean!

I wish you had not put up pictures of the pistols. Now I want one.

The ball pistols were the most beautiful ever designed.
