Hi guys!

What do you guys prefer to use for removing lead fouling from a bore?

1.) copper wool (fine/medium/coarse)?

2.) Bronze wool (fine/medium/coarse)?

I use the coarse version.

I have used #0000 steel wool on old brush. I have also used Chore Boy, take small magnet to make sure no ferrous (steel) in it when purchasing. Unwind a couple strips and wrap on old brush and push dry, wet patch #9 and dry, dry push with modified brush. Go slow-be careful. Gtek

4/0 steel wool on a worn brush and some sort of lube like hoppes, Break Free, diesel, ATF, kero.

If the lead fouling is not real bad, perhaps just a grey wash or a few flakes, try a gas checked cast boolit and a slower powder like 2400.

Dth, All of the above remedies work as will Chore Boy (sometimes Chore Girl) copper pads, which you'll find in the supermarket. Cut one apart, wrap it around a worn or under caliber bore brush and scrub the lead from your bbl. quickly and easily. It's up to you whether you want to use it wet or dry.

I use Chore Boy (it's pure copper) and it works well.If you buy one of the generic versions make sure it's copper not copper coated steel.

Chore Boy is nice because it's a flat net. You can cut a nice square out of it and wrap around your brush.
