I turned my rock chucker handle that had a ball on it in to a roller handle.

The cost about $2.

Here the list:

5/8-18 nut ...... 25 cents

a piece of 3/8 cold rolled rod .... maybe a $1

2 -- 3/8 washers .... maybe 20 cents

1 inch piece of wood dowel ... maybe 50 cents

I all ready had everything but the 5/8-18 nut.

Welded the cold rolled rod to the nut ( note rod is at an

angle). Let it cool down while drilling the 1 inch dowel.

Put a washer on then the wood dowel then the other washer

then welded the washer on.

It works great!!!

I thought about the same thing for my loadmaster a year or so ago, but never followed through. The LM doesn't have threads and a clamp would have to be devised.

Nice ! I am going to do a modification to my Lee Challenger press soon as I get a few minutes. That stick shift with a wooden ball is a really stupid design. I'm considering a straight bar with a simple right angle with the torch and do a PVC roller handle somehow. I may just use a section on my 1/2" threaded rod and then I can simply screw some nuts and washers on it. This 1/2" threaded steel rod I have is pretty stout stuff. Not the easy bending galv. stuff, but, steel.
