Just wondering what the complications if any might come up using a BC 1871 with bore diameter .450 and grove diameter of .454. Don't do long range targets, only used for hunting. Can get 21/2" groups at 100 with .440pp boolit at 490 grains. Final patched diameter is about .451 with 9lb onionskin. Have not shoot GG boolits yet, just wondered what effect the 454 groove dia might be causing on my boolits. Has anyone run into this before?

What the frick is a BC1871???????

And if you're using a PP bullet with a patched diameter of .441" in a .450" bore....I'd say "Watch out for a gutter ball!"

it might be tight chambering but it will work just fine , that rifle will have a little camming action so that helps ,
What you don't want to do is change the oal of the ctg by forcing the bullet into the bore with a lot of pressure.
