Any recommendations for tuning the trigger on one of the H&R single shot rifles?

H&R will do it for you when you send it in to have another barrel fitted.

I just take the trigger out and polish the surfaces with a dremel and buffing wheel. The spring can be bent a little to help also. Don't know if Wolff makes springs for these or not.

A little stoning goes a long way.

Found a nice resource at www.perkloafm.com. Has step by step instructions with diagrams and photos.

You need to make some slave pins to get it back together easily, and a ball point pen spring works very well as a trigger return spring if you want a really light trigger.
Recent made ones (under 10 years old) have a way nicer trigger than the older ones. I suppose they quit using the monster truck spring behind the trigger.
Something else you can do is graphite the trigger/sear area. I've done it and it helped. I just did not want to repin it. It seems the graphite not only slicked the trigger pull, the graphite also polished the hammer and sear.:bigsmyl2:

Thanks guys. Looks like this could be a 7-08 wheel weight rifle in the works.

Wolff does make springs for these. The newer Handi Rifles with the transfer bar use a single coil spring. The older guns without transfer bars use a double coil spring.
I used the info from perkloafm when I tuned up my trigger, and it went well. I printed out the instructions and read them half a dozen times before I started on the trigger job.
This looks intimidating, but it is not.
