A friend of mine that owns his own hard cast boolit company has given me a Star sizeluber. I believe its an older one, its blue and the label says San Diego CA. I need to know if I have all the necessary parts to make it run. Their were some seperate parts that I'm not what they are for. I know the top punch and or assembly is missing. Unfortunately I'm not good at posting pics. But I can take pics and email to whoever.

There's a lot of videos on youtube, some of them even by Magma. Check it out and you'll probably figure out the extra pieces. Some of the pieces might be your die removal kit if you're lucky enough to get those pieces.

There are several Star sizers on eBay to look at. Maybe you could look at some of the photos to help identify parts.

From the looks of the parts you have laying out...not including the handle (from left to right), it looks to be:

1. Part of the die extraction tool
2. Jam nut for the bullet punch
3. The hycar washer / lower part of the spring piston (kind of looks like it, but not positive).

Do you have the piston / and spring? (Its the part that goes into the tube).

I think what you call #3 is the old style piston. He says it is threaded inside.

I gues Steve needs to see if it fits the lube reservoir snugly.

Theres no way #3 is going into the resevoir.

#3 is measuring 1.110" in diameter and the resevoir is only 1.083"

Closeup of #3. Obviously fits something else. Any guesses?

So Steve needs a complete spring-piston setup. Anybody have a spare?

There's a little bitty pin on the right side part. There are holes in the left side part that allow these 2 pieces to go together. But they don't fit the sizer anyway.

So I need complete piston spring assembly and the die knock out tools?

My Star looks just like yours, except I have the straight handle.

You don't "have to have" the die removal tools, but they are handy.

The dies can be pushed out by hand from below.

My Star looks like yours. If you research Star Progressive Reloaders you will find many parts for various Star equipment. A lot of guys use air pressure to do the work of the plunger and spring so lots of spare parts with a little research. If that is you in your picture, I am a bass player also. If you are going to push the die out from the bottom, heat the base of the lubersizer with a heat lamp for a few minutes, makes the dye much easier to push out.

If you need a Star manual you may order one from Magma or I will send you a copy if you provide the needed info via a PM.
If you need the complete inner spring I would purchase one from Magma as they are pre assembled.
If the cost is high then I would consider the air pressure set up. The only thing that is used from the stock set up is the Hycar washer.

Check this site out, it has all the parts for the Star resizer....

http://pdf.textfiles.com/manuals/FIREARMS/star_reloader_lubricator_resizer_partsom.pdf

If you visit eBay from time to time you can find Sizer dies and Top Punchs
