I have in the past used an NEI 222 gr Loverin style with Blue dot powder but problem was getting it to fit the cylinder length and having any powder room left.

I have loaded the 358627 in .357 cases for use in a Model 94 Winchester. IIRC I used H110, but am not sure of the powder charge.

I do know that I seated them to the lower crimp groove, and they were too long for the cylinder in my GP-100.

Glenn Fryxell wrote an article on 358627, entitled A BULLET FOR ALL SEASONS, that is one of many good ones over at lasc.us. There is enough good reading to keep you busy for awhile...written by a master caster and handloader...AND you can obtain this education for nothing more than time in front of the monitor.

Glenn is THE MAN on cast boolits.

I use this CBE boolit in my FA .357 mag.

http://castboolits.gunloads.com/imagehosting/109144f0cdef316686.jpg

With gas check, it weighs around 215 gns.

My load is 12.5 gns of ADI 2205; this powder is also supplied to Hogdon who sell it as H4227.

I've also used 11.4 gns of 2400. Both these loads chrono at 1250fps out of the FA.

As the FA cylinder is long, I am able to crimp in the crimp groove of this boolit and it fits perfectly in the cylinder.

I have also loaded this bullet with the same loads for use in a S&W 686 and a Ruger GP100, crimping on the nose to maintain 1.59" overall length. This is a compressed load with the 2205, but shoots perfectly well. No pressure signs.

Recoil in the 6" barreled Ruger is stout, but quite OK.
