Well it was a late Christmas for me. I unexpectedly- as in sooner than expected- received a box on my desk this afternoon. Hmmmmm...... I wonder what it could be?

Upon opening the box the mystery is revealed. 2 well wrapped halves of a new .40 caliber mold...

Inspection of the mold shows some well machined cavities. Mind you, I haven't cleaned the mold up. This is exactly as it came out of the box...

Note the beveled edges of the mold halves. A nice touch.

Note the recessed holes for the alignment pins. Again- totally custom.... Also, note the beveled leading edge where the handles go...

More to follow...

Have you stripped out the hex screw for the spru plate? Well then just unscrew it from the bottom. There is a hole thru the bottom of the mold and the bottom of the spru plate screw can be removed with a hex screw that way... Super neat....

I know Tom doesn't like a trough spru plate but I do. Note how thick the spru plate is on some of the other pictures... Note the indexing marks on the spru plate screw...

It looks like a pretty good mold. I can't wait until this weekend to break it in. Right now I am poor with new molds and more on the way.

Just wait until you cast with it.

I'm fixin to order me another Accurate Mold here real soon. I'm going to try the H&G 68 clone since my NOE H&G 130 clone won't run in my gun.

His moulds are indeed fine pieces of work. Even tho he makes 5 cavity aluminum moulds, I still get the 4 cavity brass moulds from him. I'm glad that he has made the sprue plate trough an option, because personally I dislike them, but I know some folks love them. I was going to buy yet another mould from him, but I spent too much buying primers, so I have to wait til next month to order the mould.

Check the Vendor Sponsor Sales section. NOE may have some extras still there.

Very nice molds indeed fellas. When I get the cash flow I am going to order a 30 call and a 44 call. I will probably order 4 cavity brass molds. I have a couple of his brass molds now and they are great molds to use.

Tom, is a fine craftsman and a nice person to deal with.
I first purchased one of his moulds about 15-18 months ago. The one thing that I did after receiving my first Accurate mould was to post a write up on this new mould maker that made the best moulds I'd ever seen.
I'm happy for Tom but at that time you could call and talk to him on the phone and I ordered one of my three moulds on a Monday and received it that Saturday. I see that you may only e-mail him now and the expected delivery time is up to three weeks.
I'm not sorry that I wrote those postings on this and the SASS forums as it had a small part in getting his new business off the ground so to speak.
My design for the 44-40's that I shoot with 100% Black Powder are the 43-210B in Tom's online catalog. The 43-215C is from a very good friend of mine by the name of John Kort aka W30wcf, w44wcf.
I would like to shake Tom's hand one day as he is one fine fellow. I have already said that but this man should receive all the accolades that go his way. Take Care David

Beau:

The hex screw up through the bottom of the mold is actually a jamb screw to "pin" the spru stop screw in place. It is a great design detail by Tom that is far superior to the old set screw style !

Great photos by the way ! :)
