I picked up a like new (the grip frame had some of the finish chipping off) .32 H&R Single-Six from the original run of them with standard grips and adjustable sights.

I have the lee .314 TL SWC mould, and a nice 4-cavity 311316 Lyman. It casts a nice fat .313" Anyone have any recommended loads for either of these bullets?

I have a .327 BH I bought last year because I couldn't find any of the .32 H&R guns, and haven't been able to find but 1 box of .327 ammo for it. Any loading data for the longer case w/ those 2 bullets would also be appreciated.

I own about 5 of the Ruger 32 H&R's and a 327 maggie as well. You can get primed brass from "Freedom Arms" in Wyoming for the 327.
As for loads, there are a lot of different directions you can go. However, The ones I shoot are SWEET!!!!!!

32 H&R Magnum NEF model R73 stainless 5 shot revolver, my loads are easy enough on the weaker actions:
1.4 grains of Bullsye for 50 meter extreme accuracy
1.9 grains of Bullseye for full 100 meter, high penetration and hunting.

Bullet is RCBS 32-098-SWC

I have had good luck in the 32 H&R with that 311-316 boolit over 3.3 grains of WW 231. I've also used 3.5 grains of Unique. Both shoot nice round groups, but hit high in my fixed sight gun. 2.7 Bullseye was recommended to me also, but I've not tried it. My gun is one of the Birds Head-gripped, cowboy types, and is not super accurate, though that may be more a function of old eyes and antique sights than the actual limits of the gun. For my fixed sight gun, I have settled on the aforementioned RCBS 32-98 SWC. It also shoots well in both of my 32-20's as well as my S&W hand Ejector, and it shoots to point of aim over a charge of 3.5 grains of WW-231.

I've had an original run 6 1/2" barreled SS for some years now. I also have both of those moulds because they are 2 of my 3 favorites for that cartridge.

I cast the tl314-90-SWCs out of whatever scrap alloy is handy. I TL them in LLA and size at .314 initially. I push the bullets base first through the Lee sizer to keep the base square. For use in the Ruger I get just a tudge better accuracy if the bullets are then sized .312 as the cylinder throats measure .312. I load them over 3 gr Bullseye in Starline cases with WSP primers for 1005 fps and excellent accuracy. This is my most used load for plinking, small game and general shooting. Target show 6 shots off hand at 25 yards on a good day.

I use the 31316 over 4 gr Unique for 990 fps with superb accuracy.

For magnum level loads with 311316 I have developed loads with 2400, H110 and BlueDot that are at 1200+ fps. I have not pressure tested them in my contender test barrel yet so I hesitate to post them here.

The Federal 95 gr LSWC runs 1024 fps at 18,200 psi(M43).
The Federal 85 gr JHP runs 1038 at the same psi.

Load the Lee over 2.5 gr Red Dot in 32 Long cases. I have not worked up a load in 32 H&R cases but the long load is a real winner.

The 32 H&R Magnum case can be treated in the same fashion as 38 Special/357 Magnum or 44 Special/44 Magnum--that is, to duplicate the performance of a given Special loading in the Magnum casing, start by adding +5% to the Special powder weight with the same bullet/boolit in the Magnum casing. I usually duplicate the Special load at the +10% to +12% powder weight in the Magnum cases.

I confirmed this old formula during my adaptation of Magnum casings to Special loadings, the purpose being to eliminate the crud rings that firing Special cases in Magnum revolver chambers creates. The faster powders require a smaller percentage boost, slower fuels need a little higher percentage. I stopped shooting Specials in my Magnum revolvers several years ago.

The best single source of 32 Magnum loading data is the RCBS Cast Bullet Manual #1. No clue here on the 327 Federal. For the 32-20 revolver, SR-4756 powder is the Key To The Castle. Ken Water's Handloader/Pet Loads article on the subject is worth a read. Overall, I've had better luck in 32 Mag with 95-100 grain-class boolits, while the 32-20 rollers dote on the 115-120 grainers.

I have the fixed sight vaquero type and she shoots great. I did alot of searching with this gun to find a load that I liked and ended up with a 85 gr rn lyman bollit and 2.6 gr of tightgroup. My throats are super tight measuring at .311 but I am still sizing to .312. The throats in mine need to be lapped cause the barrel is a tight .312. I recently purchased the .314 114 gr swc from NOE group buy and am going to give that a try.

My plinkin load for my ruger is 3.5 -231,and the rcbs 98 swc,,,good load.
Most accurate load is a case full of h-4227,and the 311316,that load shoots very small groups, and is 1200f.p.s.,plus.

I have been using 3.5 grains of Red Dot under a 115 grain cast boolit in my 32 H&R. Clean burning and hits what I am aiming at when I do my part....
