Monday I drive out to mackeys Landing http://mackeyslanding.com/ , the largest gunshop on the eastcoast with the sole intention of buying primers, powder, brass, and maybe another 10 round magazine, or 2 for my HKUSP40.
Those guys had the nerve to have a fresh batch of the new small frame flattops in, and they just happened to have a 5.5" 44 Special flattop. Well, through no fault of my own I had a set of Bearpaw Buckeye Burl grips for a small frame Blackhawk, and no gun to put them on. I had to remedy that situation.

This is my 2nd small frame, and my 3rd set of Bearpaw Buckeye Burl gunfighters. I see a pattern developing here. I really like the small frame Rugers. I've seen there's a Flattop 45 Convertible being made for Lipseys now, I may have to locate one of those someday.

Damn, that is nice, the grips are outstanding, good photography too, the background brings it to life.

That's beautiful, Trey! Y'a reckon you can hit anything with it? [smilie=1:

Beautiful grips. If yours shoots as well as mine, you are in for a treat. Mine is by far the most accurate 44 Special I have ever shot. Everytime I take it to the range I get more and more thrilled. My current project is to try some 5.0 Red Dot loads with the 429-421 that my gun seems to love.
Enjoy

That is just plain sweet.

The fact that revolver followed you home is not your fault. It was not a desire, it was an absolute necessity. After all, you didn't have one of those and like food and oxygen it’s not a choice, life’s needs must be taken care of.

I foresee good things in your future with that gun.

The Ruger .44 Special Flattop is about as "good as it gets", in my opinion. I treasure both of mine.

I like those grips, now I am going to have to look some up for me.
As for that gun following you home, total bs. You felt sorry for it didn't you? It looked cold and hungry, then you fed it and the next thing your adopting it to a good home. Thats the story I have tried to use, didn't work.

I'll admit it, the salesman didn't really help matters much by handing it to me to look at. He knew what he was doing. Pushing a poor helpless gun nut on a new shootin iron.

Very nice! I'm with you on that Lipsey 45 convertible. I may buy a lottery ticket to fund my gun wants.[smilie=w:
