I placed a bid on ebay for a lyman single cavity mold that looks like a slick for paper patching, it has an almost was cutter desing except for a... Tit... I guess you would call it, in the middle. The only numbers seen on the mold is 361... Any clues as to what it is? I'm only in it 10.50 right now and figured no matter what it is a good lyman is worth 10 bucks

Welcome to the CastBoolits.
I found the mould you posted about. It looks to be a core mould of some unknown diameter.
If a person had the equipment, he could use the block and bore something bigger for a custom mould if he wasn't going to use it for the core mould.

360302, 112 gr. designed for paper punching from a 38 S&W. SC Ideal, listed from early 20th century. Good boolit. Works very well in both my Regulation Police revolvers. Later renumbered to 358302. Mine is the earlier version.
Maybe it is odd ball by todays standards, but it was a regular production # in "the day".

Looks like Guesser's been using that mould. That is a great thing about this forum, there is no end to the expierienced help and advice.
Thanks Guesser for the history and input.

There is another one out there in small numbers also; #360344-S, doesn't have the little point, drops at .362 and weighs 153 gr., cast some but haven't tried them yet. The only place I found it was in Ideal #37.

How do they keep from leading the bore, with no lube grooves?

Better yet, how did they get that 44 cal slug in the 38?

The numbers I quoted are cast boolits ready to size and lube. Not cores, I misunderstood.

There were two 429215s on there last week. Now, most people will say "Ho Hum, beagle", you're crazy but these were the early 429215s for the .44 Russian before Lyman renumbered. A RN design./beagle

After talking to someone in chat, he determined it was a core mold for a .458 bullet. I forgot to update the thread as I had to rush off to work. Unfortunately I didnt win it so I guess it dont really matter. Thanks for all the replies andlet me.apologize if I came off as an *** earlier.
