I buddy suggested I post this here since you guys would be interested. I wanted to make my own buckshot loads but when I priced buckshot, I thought it too expensive so I decided to come up with something that the wife would be happy with. I was going to just buy a Lee mold but decided to come up with my own. Anyhow, here are some pics of the mold, and a link to the video showing how I made it. I just thought you guys would find it interesting. I have a ton of questions to ask about casting, but won't ask now, I'll do searches first.

Link to video, less than 20 min. http://youtu.be/fGVGbSh2vys

Nice!!! Was it hard to get the mold the right temp to get the chains of buckshot to fill out?

I hate to say it but I use old 22lr bullets for buckshot. There's always 22lr bullets laying around at the range that are unfired. I just pulled the heads off of them & use them for buckshot. They don't pattern for nothing but their free.

Well I'm really new to casting and didn't was trying to cast with my lyman mag 20 furnace filled to the top with the temp knob on 750 or so. After the level of lead got down to the m3/4 mark or midway point the temp was perfect and I got perfect fills every time on all the chambers. I inherited the furnace from my Uncle, and sadly I never asked him about casting. There is so much I just don't know.

Nice, good workmanship, unique and effective design in a small package.

And BTW. you can expect the mold makers to copy your mold and sell them, but you were first.
