Guess I should have mentioned that it's a 45. Seems the lee mold is almost the exact same dimensions as a XTP. I have had good luck with the XTPs up to this point and HP'ing the lee mold would give me a good alternative to those horrible J word boolits.

I quit my job at the psychic network hotline, so I'm glad you added some detail to the "hmmm"... ;) You wouldn't be the first to think along those lines--I don't think I have too many molds left that I haven't modified yet, many of which are HP'd. Sooooooo.....

Go for it. Get your alloy and velocities right and it will likely out perform the XTP in many respects. Most of the factory HP's I've tested along side my own HP's are pretty pathetic (besides being expensive--as opposed to my el-cheapo .40S&W cast HP's at $0.04 per shot).
