They look great! Next post should be "I have lubed the boolits I made" followed by "I have loaded the boolits I made" and then the finale: "I have shot the boolits I made". :Fire:

Keep us posted.

Real good job! Boolits look round and uniform. Keep it up! Next is to try making some 45/45/10. Works better than LLA for my pistol and light rifle loads. It may turn out to be your next new best friend.

+1 on 45/45/10 lube. Check it out in the lube forum under the sticky title "tumble lube, easy and mess-free", trying it first, exactly according to the directions Recluse gives, will save you from ever knowing the downsides of straight Liquid Alox.

Oh, Boy!

You are entitled to be proud. Good job.

BUT:

If you are proud now, just wait until you actually shoot them.

Enjoy.

Thanks everyone!

Savage, I'm in South Carolina, the Palmetto state, on the sunny coast, hence the name Palmettosunshine.

i think that's actually a bit fancier set-up than the one i started with.
god almighty i just kinda tallied up in my head what i have spent on equipment [molds, pots, sizers] to save money with.

Check out this thread, post #5, about a little caveat regarding shooting fresh boolits.

http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?t=138019

You might want to go ahead and make a "dummy" with no powder or primer, just seat and crimp the boolit in a sized and expanded case, then see if you can push the boolit deeper with your fingers. Just for kicks you might also pull a seated boolit and measure it to see if it's been squeezed down by the brass.

Also use this dummy to check for feeding and functioning. When you finally have a load that works in all respects, store that dummy with your die set so you can use it for resetting your seating die in the future.

Good to mention, Williamwaco, I have a whole cigar box of dummies for setting seat/crimp dies, I use a sharpie to denote which gun they belong to.
