So,
I would like to reduce .223 brass to make .338 bullets. I have a CSP 2 press and a jacket reducer (Corbin H style) for 375 to 338. If I punch out the primer and anneal, is there any problem with this? Or will it require an intermediate reduction? I could just try it but maybe someone could warn me if it is a mistake. I don't have enough money to break things experimenting!

I currently am reducing .223 brass to .358 for making 35 cal bullets. I leave the primer in, anneal, and reduce in one stroke. I am using the Corbin S Press to do this. If the brass is annealed soft I think you should be fine. Just make sure you use enough lube. Also, make sure that your punch will fit inside the case once it is reduced. If it is too tight, it will be very difficult to get it through the die and very difficult to get the brass off the punch once through.

I would leave the primer in. Be sure and anneal it VERY GOOD! It can be done in one step, I can do it on my pnumatic press. I would bet that big corbin press can do it too. I'm sure I posted pics in my 338 thread. if you need an inbetween die a 9mm taper crimp die will take it down to .360.

Keep us posted

Thanks fellas, I'll give it a try as I think the bullet with the strong base would work very well. I did set up the reloading adapter and pushed some cases up as far as I could into the reducer. Then I cut off the neck and the remaining section of the base. This leaves a partially rounded tube of the right diameter. I drop a 6.5 mm gas check in to finish closing the base and seat the core (after annealing). The results don't look too bad except I'm having trouble getting good square cuts on both ends, so accuracy will probably suffer and I'm not sure how they'll hold up in a 338 Win Mag. I haven't shot any yet. Much easier to only cut one end! I'm excited about the prospect of inexpensive (almost free) .338 and 375's!! I can find lots of .223 brass laying around here.

The gas check will certainly keep the lead protected from the hot gases but I would not count on teh gas check doing anythign to keep the core from seperating from the jacket in the barrel. Very rare that there would be any problems but it could. Just make sure you have that jacket folded over and closed up as much as possible at the base.

Well,
The brass bullets made with the 223 case cut off and gas checked didn't work so well accuracy wise. They didn't come apart in the barrel of my 338 win mag but they didn't hit the target much either! I will definitely leave the base on next time. It made a good looking bullet though. Just goes to show looks ain't everthing. I may try it this way again with a better anneal and squarer cuts but I'm not expecting much.

I have tried buy celebrex (http://celebrexpill.com/) before and must say that clomid pills (http://clomidpills.us/) causes less side effects though. I had terrible headache with ****** which made sex impossible sometimes. With ****** (http://brandcialismed.com/) I forgot about it. I would recommend it to anybody who has similar problems and this drug is above all praises.”
