Hi guys, I wonder if there would be enough interest to have someone do a mold for the .38 S&W in 145 grain. I just got one from NOE's last run of .38 200 but unfortunately my two Webleys have sights regulated for the lighter loading. I'd like something simple in a plain base, either round nose or maybe SWC. The more cavities the better. Anyone else?

I'd probably be interested, my preference would be a round nose, but I might be open to other profiles. Is there a boolit design from a previously available mould that appeals to you? What sort of boolits do your guns shoot well?

For the Webley I would be happy to have a round nose, or maybe round-flat nose would be even better. I have had very good luck with the round nose 200 grain sized at .363 and think that the same style just downsized (shortened) would work just as well and shoot a bit closer to point of aim.

This is a bugger of a round to find proper molds for so I'm hoping there will be enough interest to make this happen.

I have been using a Lee 358-150-1R mold to reload for my H&R 38 SW, and it seems to like that bullet more than any other I've used. I had to enlarge the mold cavity by about .002 to get it to drop the right size for me, but it loads up to the last lube groove, so they look nice as well!

Here is a drawing of a clone of an original ideal tong tool mold from waaaay back. It also closely resembles lyman's classic 38 s&w mold, the 35864. I had this drawing made for the group buy I ran several years ago.

I don't need a mold as I still have one from the original group buy, but you are welcome to use the drawing.

Depending on price, I would be interested in one of these molds.

Last night I tried out some 360344 in a friend's S&W revolver (chambered for .38 S&W, not .38 S&W Special). I sized them to .359 because I did not have a .360 sizing die for my Lyman lubisizer. They cut a ragged hole at 7 yards. The reason for the full wad cuter as opposed to round nose was for improved performance on armadillos. Round nose bullets pass through them with little effect.

Don't overlook the 360344 as a possibility. I'd be interested in a multi-cavity mold in this design.

Accurate Molds makes this bullet. I'm sure you could get him to do it a big bigger, like .361. Mine is 140 grains with enough lube for BP.

Looks like this one may die on the vine.
