Saw a caplock with a .50 and.32 cal barrels for it. I believe both were 1/48 twist. It is newer cause it has a black plastic stock, what would be a fair price for it.
What size RB would someone use in a .32 cal? Thanks

I have a traditions .32 and something like a .310 RB fits pretty good. I was thinking of getting a .50 barrel to go with it but didn't see any that I knew would fit as a drop in. I have a Cabelas 50/58 and it's nice having the two different barrels for one gun. I think something like $200 would be a fair price. Maybe a little more if you really want it.

Nsp64,
I think that Traditions has been making the side hammer, plastic stocked ML for probably close to 20 years now. I believe that Mooman is pretty close in his placement of value for one of these. The .32 and .50 would make a nice combination as it will allow you to have something easy on recoil for plinking and small game and the ability to change to the .50 for larger game. The .32 should shoot well with a .310 or .315 round ball and patch over about 20 grains of 3 fg powder.
Hope this helps .... Pete

the nice thing about a 32, is you can pretty much get balls from .310 up to .315 in 0.001 steps.

You should be able to find one that will work best with the patch you have.

That sounds like a great combo. I have a Traditions .32 but it's the little Crockett; fine rifle but small game only. Mine thrives on home cast .311" ball, .020" Hoppes lubed patch and 30grns Goex 3F. Good luck.

Let me know if you pick it up and I'll send you some RBs. They are so light shipping them is next to nothing. Mine is a Lee mould, I believe .308 but it drops like .309/310. I have the larger one to that drops .319 but I got it for another old 32 that has a larger bore. They would be way to big for for my traditions .32. Mine is the Deerhunter. Odd name for a 32 but that is what it is.

$100 and you even bothered to ask? It was worth that with only one barrel. I would have jumped all over that. It sounds like a real steal.

The flyer was MY fault. If you're a good shot 1" groups at 50 yards should be pretty common. I'm NOT a good shot.

I have been using the Hornady #6000 .310 RB in my .32 Traditions BuckHunterfor ever since I bought it 10-12 years ago. I will also add that the cheap plastic stock was a first issue option as well back then, so, it's not a new item.

As per the previous thread on this rifle, I will be trying those .32 cal cast bullets next week, maybe this weekend as planned.

That is a nice group, I didn't think that those little 32's shot that good, I guess one learns something new every day.

Best wishes,
