Just recently I took delivery of a 3 cavity Accurate 31-090A mold.
I designed the bullet to fit the standard .32 Long Colt case (.91”) and to provide internal lubrication. It weighs 90 grs in w.w. +2% tin alloy.

The .305" heel diameter was intended to fit in as fired cases in my rifle, which it does very well with a nice press fit. It also provides a nice bore ride which helps accuracy.

Here's a pic next to the Ideal 299153 which was designed to fit the earlier 32 Long Colt brass which is a bit shorter for use with outside lubed bullets.

Cartridge so loaded in comparison to an original .32 Colt externally lubed cartridge.
R-P cartridge last produced in the 1970's on the right.

I had a chance to get to the range and I am pleased with the initial results.
5 shot groups at 25 yards were 1" which is pretty good from my 1892 Marlin which doesn't have the greatest bore.

Over the 30 rounds fired, the single lube groove in the heel provided enough lubrication for the trip down the 24" barrel. There was no leading.

More testing in the future........

Nice looking boolit. Why the variation in case OAL? Are you adapting to your own chamber? I have to do with for my .310 Cadet. My cases are much long than 'factory'.

The early loadings of the 32 LC used a shorter case with an outside lubed bullet. The later loadings used a longer case and an inside lubed, hollow base bullet of a smaller diameter.

I assume w30wcf has a supply of the later brass, and wanted to load it without trimming, thus the difference in case lengths.

The 32 short and long colt originally used a heeled bullet the same diameter as the case. This little foible makes them a bit harder to load for, especially with the obsolescence of the brass and bullet molds. The recent availability of custom made one-of mold has been a boon for reloaders wanting to play with the old guns. Now if only star-line would make a run of brass, we'd be all set!

They would either sell out very quickly, or have brass on hand until we are using rayguns.

Myself, I would be satisfied with a .50 cal ammo can full of .32 Long Colt brass. And maybe another with .32 Short Colt.......

As NoZombies indicated, the earliest .32 L Colt ctgs used externally lubricated bullets and a shorter case per the pic below.
In the early 1900's when the longer case was introduced with its internally lubed hollow based bullet it was called the .32 Long Rifle......

Gotcha. I like your inside lubricated heel boolit. Nice work. Let's see some bunnies now.
