Long story short, I had some old Harley parts and this guy had a 4.75 inch freedom arms premiere grade gun. He's go the parts and I have the gun and about 500 rds of empty brass. The biggest thing I'll go after with it is Black Bear and hogs so if any of you fine folks have any load suggestions or Mold ideas I'd love to hear them.

Excellent deal.
I shoot 26 gns of WC820, small rifle mag primer for the winter, and a 340gn wheel weight shaped in a mountainmolds mold. It gives me 1350fps out of my RB and very good accuracy.

Take a look in the Levergun section under Colt , I've been using Lil Gun with good results. NOT to Casull pressures mind you, but I sure as hell been getting velocity in a 24" barrel! 240gr at 2400fps, lol, who needs a 45/70? Love the cartridge, and I lust after a FA still calling my name in one of the local gunshops here, 7 1/2" barrel in field grade SS.
"Only" a grand,,,,,,,,,, *sigh*.

My FA loves 26 gr and up of AA# 9 with 260 gr TCGC Saeco 8 alloy from a FA mold. They get in line to go through the same hole at 50 YD. But I am going to find a load for wc820, as close to #9 as it is. ...buck

Al, Nah I can't find a good duty holster for this F/A that is level three + it's stainless and all my buddies might call it a pimp gun.

I have a F.A. 4 3/4" in field grade. I use a Lyman 452651 335 grain cast and 28 grs. Lil'Gun for 1500 FPS. Let your buddies shoot this load and then call it a pimp gun....

hi i have 2 fa 454 casualls i mostly use a lbt 300gc lfn which is extremenly accurate with a broad range of powders and velocitys i used 820 & 296 in 1 grain incurments for a total of 5 loads with 2 different powders for a total of 10 loads out of each revolver and 2 different fa revolvers and the worst groupe at 25 yards was 1 inch the best loads will consintaly groupe 3/4 to 1/2 inch at 50 yards and 1 1/4 to 1 3/4 at 100 yards
have also done some limited testing with the lyman 452454 pb & the lbt lfn bullet which was promsing with a surplus powder made by hercules that you use accurate # 7 data with , i know but for $ 4.00 a pound i couldent pass it up and will shoot good enough for most people around 1 1/2 at 25 yards! this is aroud 1000fps with the 300 with no gc and im guesstmating 1100 to 1150 fps with the 255 lyman pb. good luck bob
